Please read these terms carefully before engaging our services.

1. About These Terms

These terms and conditions govern the supply of custom wardrobe design, manufacture and installation services by Built in wardrobes Liverpool (ABN pending) ("we", "us", "our") to you ("you", "your", "the customer").

By accepting a quote or engaging our services, you agree to be bound by these terms. We recommend you keep a copy for your records.

2. Our Services

We provide custom wardrobe solutions including:

  • Built-in wardrobes
  • Walk-in wardrobes
  • Sliding door wardrobes
  • Corner wardrobes
  • Kids wardrobes
  • Related storage solutions

All wardrobes are custom designed and manufactured in our Liverpool factory to your specifications.

3. Quotations

We provide free in-home consultations and quotations. Our quotes include:

  • Detailed design specifications
  • Materials and finishes selected
  • All hardware (soft-close hinges, runners, handles)
  • Professional installation
  • GST (all prices are GST inclusive)

Quotes are valid for 30 days from the date of issue. After this period, we reserve the right to requote due to potential changes in material costs.

The quoted price is final unless you request design modifications after the quote is issued, in which case we will provide an updated quote for your approval.

4. Payment Terms

Our standard payment terms are:

  • Deposit: 50% of the quoted price is required upon acceptance of the quote to confirm your order and commence manufacture.
  • Balance: The remaining 50% is due upon completion of installation, before our team leaves your premises.

We accept payment by cash, credit card (Visa, Mastercard), EFTPOS, and bank transfer. For bank transfers, please allow sufficient time for funds to clear.

For larger projects exceeding $10,000, alternative payment arrangements may be discussed during your consultation.

5. Manufacturing and Installation

Upon receipt of your deposit, we will commence manufacture of your wardrobe. Our standard turnaround is 7 days from deposit to installation, subject to:

  • Material availability
  • Complexity of the design
  • Current production schedule
  • Your preferred installation date

We will contact you to arrange a mutually convenient installation date. Please ensure:

  • The installation area is clear and accessible
  • Existing furniture or belongings are moved away from the work area
  • Someone over 18 years of age is present at the start of installation
  • Our team has access to power points

6. Site Requirements

You warrant that:

  • You are the owner of the property or have the owner's permission to have work carried out
  • The walls, floors and ceilings in the installation area are structurally sound
  • You have disclosed any known issues with the site (e.g., asbestos, water damage, electrical issues)

If we encounter unforeseen site conditions that affect installation (such as significantly uneven walls or floors), we will discuss options with you. Additional charges may apply for remedial work required.

7. Warranty

All our wardrobes come with a comprehensive 10-year structural warranty covering:

  • Cabinet carcass and construction
  • Shelving and internal components
  • Doors and door mechanisms
  • Hinges and drawer runners
  • Defects in materials or workmanship

The warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear
  • Damage caused by misuse, accident, or neglect
  • Damage caused by exposure to excessive moisture or heat
  • Modifications made by anyone other than us
  • Damage caused by settling or movement of the building structure
  • Minor variations in colour or grain pattern (natural characteristics of materials)

To make a warranty claim, please contact us on (02) 9188 4800 or email info@builtinwardrobesliverpool.com.au with details and photos of the issue. We will arrange an inspection and, if the claim is valid, repair or replace the affected components at no cost to you.

8. Australian Consumer Law

Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

Nothing in these terms is intended to limit or exclude any rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable legislation.

9. Cancellation

Before manufacture commences: You may cancel your order in writing. Your deposit will be refunded less a 10% administration fee to cover design and consultation costs.

After manufacture commences: As wardrobes are custom made to your specifications, cancellations after manufacture has commenced will incur charges for materials already cut and labour performed. We will provide you with a breakdown of these costs.

Cooling-off period: For sales made at your residence, you have a 10 business day cooling-off period under NSW law during which you may cancel the contract without penalty.

10. Variations

If you wish to make changes to your order after accepting the quote, please contact us as soon as possible. We will advise whether the variation is possible and provide an updated quote if required. Variations may affect the delivery timeframe.

11. Liability

We take reasonable care during installation to protect your property. We use drop sheets and clean up thoroughly after completion.

We hold public liability insurance. In the unlikely event of damage to your property caused by our negligence during installation, we will rectify the damage or compensate you appropriately.

To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from our services is limited to the price paid for those services.

12. Disputes

We aim to resolve any issues promptly and fairly. If you have a complaint, please contact us on (02) 9188 4800 or email info@builtinwardrobesliverpool.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 business days and work with you to find a resolution.

If we cannot resolve a dispute directly, you may contact NSW Fair Trading for assistance.

13. Privacy

We collect and handle your personal information in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

14. General

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. The courts of New South Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising from these terms.

If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on our website.
